Wild Blackberry

Born in Minnesota, George Olson taught art at the College of Wooster in Ohio until his retirement in 2000. Olson’s exhibitions include the British Museum (Natural History), Seventh International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Missouri Botanical Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, and the Royal Horticultural Society in London. His work has been included in many juried exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Seattle. Olson’s book, The Elemental Prairie: Sixty Tallgrass Plants, (University of Iowa Press) was published in 2005 and he contributed a number of medieval plant illustrations to C. Paul Christianson’s The Riverside Gardens of Thomas More’s London (Yale/Mellon).
